Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Honolulu area.
Honolulu, the capital and business center of Hawaii, is the perfect home base from which to explore all that the island of
Oahu has to offer. Honolulu is where you will find the highest concentration of the performing arts and restaurants that
specialize in authentic local cuisine. The Island of Oahu has a number of alternatives for outdoor recreation including
biking trails in the mountains, hiking trails around Waikiki, scuba diving with or without instructors, or just lounging on
the white sand beaches which encircle the two mountain ranges that comprise Oahu. Each side of the island offers a different
level and quality of beach activity. The West side is popular among sports fishermen, waves off the North shore frequently
reach 25 feet in height and are perfect for surfing, the East shore with its tropical landscaping and tradewinds is most
appropriate for windsurfing and sailing, and Waikiki Beach on the South shore is the more tourist and family oriented
bathers' beach with all of the Hawaiian tourist attractions you will recognize from film and media coverage. The City of
Honolulu has a rich history, and has preserved many of the original buildings which date back to the first encounters
between the natives and missionaries, many museums and historical landmarks that convey the history of Hawaii's royalty, and
amenities and services as contemporary as you will find anywhere.
